- Bert Behnke is a highly regarded photographer known
for his
- lifestyle approach to portraiture. Skilled in all
aspects of “people” photography,
- Bert will show how creating the great shot takes
not only great natural
- surroundings, but the ability to manipulate the
shot.
- Additive and subtractive lighting, outdoors
flash-fill lighting,
- and multiple light sources can turn the shot from
good to great!

- Bert will teach you to look for the angles, the
background and the light,
- then make them work together. He will show how to
manipulate both
- during the shoot and in post-production. Then, most
importantly, he will
- cover the importance of the personal relationship
with the subject.
- His ability to make his subjects relax is critical
in his work.
- Once you overcome that awkward initial meeting, the
interaction between
- photographer and model become a large part of the
shoot, and a
- necessity to get the great shots.

- One of Bert’s favorite places to do photography is
at the beach.
- The ever-changing light, the breezes that create
motion and the
- feeling of freedom for both photographer and model
make for a
- great location to shoot. The additional locations
we go to, will
- demonstrate how being able to analyze any situation
and then implement
- it into your photography creates an experience that
will get your creativity flowing.

- In addition to the actual photo sessions, Bert
plans to hold discussions on equipment,
- investigate Photoshop techniques, plug-in
filters, and maybe create some image presentations.
- He will discuss whatever the attendees want,
business, marketing, printing, basics,
- and just about anything he has learned in his 30
years in the business.

models.
- He coordinated the shootout that featured almost 70
photographers,
- eleven models and one location with various
background opportunities.
